Punctuation Bingo- PINGO is a critical thinking punctuation bingo game. Using the traditional bingo game, students listen to authentic statements and identify the punctuation they hear by placing a chip on the corresponding punctuation. PINGO was designed to provide students with repeated practice in monitoring and analyzing the purpose and reason for punctuation marks.   Patsy Period, Quincy Question Mark, and Eric Exclamation Point are crossing guards that put children in the write lanes for reading comprehension in a CLOSE read of books and on the virtual lanes of the information superhighway.  PINGO allows teachers to engage their students in punctuation and play.  Functional knowledge of punctuation marks promotes oral reading fluency, listening and reading comprehension and effective communications skills.
